PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL

The meeting of the P.C.C. on June 28 was chaired by Rev Jeffrey Chard with ten other members present.

It was agreed to make a general appeal to the villages of Shenington and Alkerton in a manner similar to that carried out some seven years ago in order to alleviate a likely shortage of funds.

Potential woodworm damage to a beam in the south aisle has now been inspected and action will be taken shortly. Tony Kendell offered to clean the rainwater gulleys in advance of the forthcoming architect?s inspection.

Rev Chard commented on the improved number in the Benefice Choir with three, possibly four, new members from Shenington.

A letter from Keith Hainsworth offering to organise completion of the work in Shenington churchyard and to mount a similar working party at Alkerton was read.

No smoking signs, required by law, have been placed in both churches.
