PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL

The Easter Vestry and Annual Church Meeting was held in Shenington Church on May 1 following the Ascension Day service. At this meeting Cyril Anson and Peter Handcock were re-elected as churchwardens for Shenington and Barbara Furneaux and Sheila Poulton for Alkerton.

The current members of the P.C.C. namely Stephen Bell, Millie Blakiston-Houston, John Calderan, Marian Hancock, Margaret Handcock, Donald Hawtin, Tony Kendell, Trudy Koochitt, Pat Shaw, Doreen Smith, and Rev. Pam Smith were re-elected en bloc.  Rev. Jeffrey Chard was appointed as chairman, Tony Kendell as vice-chairman, Cyril Anson as secretary and Marian Hancock as treasurer. Marian continues to be the parish representative on the Deanery Synod and John Evans the independent accounts examiner.

The annual church and village fete will be held on Saturday, July 12.
